FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. What types of companies do you work with?
Privately held, growing companies located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Q. How do I know if you’re also helping one of my competitors?
Because CFO work involves business strategy, I do not work simultaneously with direct competitors.
If I work with two companies in the same industry at the same time, they service different markets.
At all times, confidential and proprietary information remains so.

Q. How much will your services cost me?
Our initial consultation is complimentary. If I become the CFO member of your company’s leadership team, I would work
between 16 and 32 hours per month. In our initial consultation I can give you pricing for different service levels. We agree
to monthly fees beforehand so you have a known budget to work with.

Q. Do I have to pay for your benefits?
No. I work as an independent contractor. You don’t pay any payroll taxes, benefits, worker’s compensation insurance,
paid time off (PTO), etc.

Q. How long are your contracts?
It depends on service level. Smaller ones are month-to-month. Larger ones have a 90-day termination clause in them.

Q. Would my bookkeeper and/or controller report to you?
Technically, no. Since I wouldn’t be a manager/employee of your firm, I cannot supervise your staff. In practice, however,
the role of a CFO includes much hands-on guidance on hiring and developing staff.

Q. When can you start?
It depends on my current commitments. We can discuss that in our initial consultation.
